12/03/22: A State of Stillness

A unique one-day pop-up gallery event showcasing the incredible work of artists Juanita N. Jones and Anthony Gulley, facilitated and curated by Alia Boynton. Anthony and Juanita participated in weekly meetings with Alia in preparation for this event, all held with a larger purpose to cultivate the tools, mindset, and skills to succeed as entrepreneurs in the arts. A State of Stillness indicates the completion of Anthony and Juanita's first full gallery showcase as a boasting success with over 50 pieces of original artwork displayed, over 70 guests in attendance, and original speeches held by both artists for a live audience. With the publication of a website and direct experience and training with event promotion and marketing, web design, art vending for original pieces and prints, gallery curation, and much more, this event is merely a launching pad for Anthony and Juanita's continued success as artists and entrepreneurs.

About Anthony Gulley

My name is Juanita Jones I was born and have lived here in Philadelphia all of my life , I started taking instructional Art classes at Studio Incamminati in 2017 until present. While taking the classes I have learned many different mediums which consist of Charcoal ,Graphite, Painting “Color Studies and Grisaille.”This has been a very therapeutic experience for me, while dealing with my Cancer diagnosis. Art has allowed me to open up, express and share myself with my community. It has also helped to me build up my confidence and explore Art on many different levels. My creativity has given me many possibilities to tell stories through Art.

About Anthony Gulley

I Anthony Gulley was born and raised in Detroit Michigan. I came to Philadelphia in 2012, in 2014 I had the opportunity to get into Studio Incamminati’s Art program, this opened my eyes to doing Art again. I started drawing at a very young age! I’ve been told that I have an eye for interpreting objects, shapes, colors and composition. I enjoy working with my Art Instructors at Studio Incamminati, I love to learn and practice in an environment where I can focus and do my best Art! I cultivate my creativity by practicing patience, which allows me to present my best works.
